Very frustrated, cannot activate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have spent the last two hours travelling in circles on One Care sites, and am still unable to activate.  I installed the software before I left the United States, and now I am in Afghanistan.  I have the software key, however I have not been prompted for it.  When I hit activate token on one of the screens I am sent back to the page that OFFERs me the options of downloading MSN software that I DO NOT want.  PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS SOFTWARE A SECOND TIME.  How can I activate this software?

  • If you don't already have a subscription created, it won't let you activate where you are located as OneCare is not available in Afghanistan. However, there is a workaround, though not supported. Contact someone you trust in the US and have them sign in with *your* LiveID at http://onecare.live.com/activate and have them enter the product key that you have. Once that has been done, change your LiveID password and proceed through activation on your PC from within OneCare. It will recognize your subscription as active and will activate the copy.

Rob:  I certainly hope Microsoft excalates your request.  It's beyond me but you deserve the best support given where you are my friend.
