need to reload bought in 2008 with email download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought MS Money in 2008 and it was an email download. last month my hard drive crashed and I need to reload but did not get a CD. How do I get a reload without buying again?

Also I have an older version but can't sign into it using my msn email account even though last month before hard drive crashed i could. Need help signing in ASAP?

  • You can no longer purchase Money from Microsoft.  The good news is that it is available via a free download.  See the second "sticky" in this forum:

Be sure to save that download on external media so that you can re-install Money if your hard drive should crash in the future.  In addition, if you are still running Windows XP, have a look at the first "sticky" in this forum:

for a patch that may be needed.  Even is you are not running XP, you should consider applying this patch and/or saving it to external media in the event that you need it in the future.

Re the older version, if you are trying to use it to open your newer file it won't work.  An older version will not open a file made with a newer version.  If, instead, you need that older version for a different file, post back.
