  • There is a section in the OCS SDK entitled "Writing a Message Filter Script" that gives example code that would help you do this.  However, if you don't have some development experience you'd be better off buying a 3rd party product.

  • The filtering capabilities in OCS 2007 allow you to:

    • Block URLs
    • Block File Transfer
    • Block particular versions of the client

For keyword filtering, you can either write a script using the OCS APIs or rely on a 3rd party product such as those provided by IM Logic or Facetime.

  • Hi Marcus...

I dont think you can do this by default. Maybe with some 3rd part app...

  • Hi,

The best way is a 3rd party product, FaceTime are the best of breed in this market.  We have used them oursleves and the content control is excellent, it's what you expect for email but in an IM world.  They do a lot more than this to.

    Hope this helps.

  • The upcoming Forefront Security for Office Communications Server 2007 (FSOCS) product includes the capability to do this as well.

  • Unfortunately - per our TAM Forefront for enterprise edition BETA2 and RTM is not due until September/November of 2008. Not helpful now.

  • Yes, that's why I stated it was an 'upcoming' release.  It is in public Beta at the moment so users can begin testing it in prepertation for it's release.
