Forums vice older Newsgroups RRS feed

    I just wanted to provide a little feedback as Microsoft moves from Newsgroups to Forums.  I find the Forums a lot less intuitive to use.  I am only an occasional user, but I used be able to sign in, navigate and find an answer or post a question pretty quick in the Newgroups, but none of this seems particularly intuitive in the Forums.  However, most troubling to me is the lack of response.  In the old Newsgroups, I would get a response to most questions in less than 12 hours.  Based on a very small statistical sample, the turnaround in the Forums seems much slower.  I happened to look in the Windows SP3 Forum and according to the statistics that are provided there are 5800 unanswered questions and only 1500 answered questioned. To me, that seems like a pretty poor ratio.

    Is this one of the forums microsoft switched to?

    What i'd like to know is which of these forums is the official microsoft - the one im in here

    or this one,
    http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistainstall/thread/dc44daee-5c13-417d-ad01-f98a69f6b200

    Both are spreading out the same questions and answers, making it harder for the public to find the best remedies to problems that are obscured within one thread of a haystack of others with the same symptoms.

    (I'm going to contribute another suggestion to the end of that thread - something that needs more awareness and recognition by staff as something easy to try for getting rid of a nasty trojan that isn't being detected by most AV programs - My posting history looks like obsessing - and it is to a degree, but only because it does alot of good and the word is Not being spread by the experts, ...yet.   I cant contribute anything else more helpful than that.)

    I am not a MS power user, I am having as much trouble following the change from newsgroups to forums as you.  Hopefully, this gets resolved after the change is complete.
