Unable to open Outlook from Office Professional 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • -  Installed Office Professional on a new new computer (Dell Inspiron 580).  Outlook initially worked

    -  Transferred files from old computer to new computer via Belkin cable.  Address book successfully transfered.  Could send and receive messages via outlook.  Uninstalled Microsoft Home Office 2010.

    -  Several hours latter I could not access Outlook.  Common error messages:  1) Cannot start MS outlook file, 2) The connection to Microsoft exchange is unavailable, 3) cannot open your default e-mail folders.  Unable to open Outlook to check tools, options or account settings

    -  Contacted Comcast and verified input to modem is good.  They said problem is with the software and suggested a re-install of professional 2010.  Dell wants to charge $239 to troubleshoot.

    -  Hoping to avoid uninstall and reinstal of microsoft professional 2010.  Appreciate any ideas out there.
