  • I cannot install the application on a Windows 10 laptop from the original CD - what can I do, and how can I reload the saved data from a laptop running under windows XP ?

  • Some possible options:

      1. Money 2000 should install and run just fine on Windows 10.  Can you still read the installation CD?  What happens when you try to install it?  What is the exact error message?

      2. You can have a look at the second "sticky" thread in this forum:

    https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/479281b2-90f9-42ca-85f7-644fc6e1e5c3/download-microsoft-money-installation-files-solve-activation-and-some-other-errors?forum=money

which has links to installation files for some international versions of Money.  I'm not sure if any of those will read an Italian Money file.

      3. You can do a qif export of your data and import it to a newer version of Money.  Here's a thread that describes how to do this:

  • Another thing I would consider is changing the Windows 10 64-bit to 32-bit. That is a whole reinstall.

I don't know if it would help.

  • Try copying the CD contents to the Downloads area in your Windows 10 user account and then find and launch the Money setup program.

Then see Microsoft (MS) Money Patches and Fixes (Money 2001 and earlier)
