Hi:
I need some help. During backup, an unexpected shutdown occurrs. The last successful backup achieved was 9/24/08. None have been successful since then. This ALWAYS happen on WHS backup, either scheduled or manual.
Client is running Vista Ultimate. Several other PCs (vista and XP) are being backed up successfully.
No events are recorded at shutdown. Once there was a brief bluescreen, usually the screen just goes blank and then the bios loads. Start of backup is logged on client, but nothing afterwards.
One log entry that might relate is:
Context: Application, SystemIndex Catalog Details: A device attached to the system is not functioning. (0x8007001f)
Entry C:\WINDOWS HOME SERVER DRIVERS FOR RESTORE\MSHDC.INF_CC18792D\CMDIDE.SYS
All disks in the client have been ckecked.
The server databases have had diagnostics run but there is way too much information to lead me to a solution. I have tried repair on the backup databases, but this appears to run and says databases were repaired successfully, but does not solve the crash problem.
The BIOS has been updated with the latest bios (mother board is a Intel DX48BT2). WHS Settings shows WHS with PP1. The server is running on an intel DG33BU with 1GB.
Windows Home Server Console: 6.0.1771.0
Windows Home Server Backup & Restore: 6.0.1771.0
Windows Home Server Drive Extender: 6.0.1771.0
Windows Home Server Remote Access: 6.0.1771.0
Windows Home Server Storage Manager: 6.0.1771.0
Crashes ONLY HAPPEN DURING BACKUP.
What do I do next?
Thanks,
Rocky
