    I believe that Microsoft has announced that it will offer a new security solution to consumers at no cost beginning in the second half of calendar year 2009.

     

    So why do I need to pay for a full years subscription to renew my Live OneCare when Microsoft plans to introduce a free Virus protection software in June 2009?

     

    Will I receive a refund when the free software is available?

    You will be notified when the free solution is available and an announcement will surely be posted here. If you subscription expires before Morro is available, you can renew OneCare or choose an alternative until Morro is available in the 2nd half of 2009. Free antivirus software is available from Avast and Avira, among others.
