Remote access on Acer Aspire WHS

Question
-
I have configured my server and remote access. However when I try to connect remotely I do not get the the screen shown in the help section on remote access, I get the Acer Aspire easyStore home server page. I understand what I should get is the Windows Home Server page with the three tabs, Home, Computers, Shared Folders. I have done the configuration several time all of them say that it was successful, however I cannot get the Windows Home Server page when I log into my domain name (https://domainame.homeserver.com) I get the Acer page. Any ideas?

It sounds like Acer has included additional web components on their servers. Your server should have come with a manual which explains the additional features added by Acer, and if not I'm pretty sure Acer has a copy available for download on their web site.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)Tuesday, May 18, 2010 1:57 AMModerator -
It's an Acer thing. I'm pretty sure there is a way to change that default, but I can't remember where I saw it. I know that doesn't help solve theproblem for you, but you are not seeing something wrong."wfwii" wrote in message news:7bf52f41-51ec-4ec0-8518-76e00d52d186...>I have configured my server and remote access. It's fairly simply to do; please try this walkthrough.

Ken,
Thanks, solved the problem. It connects when I open the home server icon on the Acer website. The login is way up in the right, once I put one of user names and password in it connected. Should have looked closer to the Acer documents. Sorry for the false alarm.

Yeah, I had the same experience when I first tried the Acer H340. I thought you already got past that and wanted to get rid of the Acer welcome page, which is also possible (see my first reply in this thread).Thursday, May 20, 2010 6:39 PMModerator
