Windows Vista OEM activation problems

Question
-
I have a Windows Vista Home Premium System Builders OEM purchased from Vista along with all the parts to build my own PC. Two weeks ago I replaced my hard disk, and now Vista is forcing me to reactivate. I get errors that the License Key is already in use, but when I phone Microsoft and tell them I need to reactivate because of the hard disk upgrade, I am told to re-enter the license key. But the OEM copy doesn't have the License Key on the box, only the System Builder's EULA.

You need to find and enter the 25-character Product Key that originally came with the OEM Windows Vista DVD. If you cannot find it, contact the seller from whom you puchased it.Saturday, February 23, 2008 3:04 PMModerator

As you suggested, I contacted newegg and learned that the 25-key code was on the cellophane wrapper. It must have been discarded when I cleaned up after building the computer.
I called Microsoft # 800-936-4900, explained the problem, and they issued a new key. The activation is complete.
Thanks!

When I re-install Windows Vista Home Premium, I cannot active it by my OEM Product Key in the bottom of my computer.
Please show me the way to active it.
