Instalation Error [80072F8F]

Question
-
Recently I attempted to install Live Mesh on my Home desktop, running Windows XP.
I encountered the error code [80072F8F] which said "Content decoding has failed."
I tried redownloading the file, but this made no difference. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated,
Andrew Day

Hi Andrew,
In order to determine what is happening here, we'd like to take a look at your Servicing log. Please see the Announcement at the top of the forums on collecting logs and submitting bugs for instructions on finding the Servicing log - though you can just send the log to lmprev@microsoft.com (you don't need to open a bug in Connect).
Thanks,

I have the same problem:
"Live Mesh service is unavailable. Please retry your instalation later. The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response."
[Error: 80072F78]
I have Windows XP SP3, and haven't LiveMeshLogs...

Stephen,
I download: http://download.windowsupdate.com/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/7.2.6001.788/windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe, and install but the installer show me: "Install is not need since Windows Update Agent is already installed."
I can't install Live Mesh.

The best I can suggest at this point, Patricia, if the WU agent is up to date, is for you to submit a bug report.
How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs
The instructions include how to get the servicing log for a failed installation.
