Re-connect restored client backup database to existing clients. RRS feed

  • My hard-drive that contains the client backups plus some other folders failed and had to be replaced.

    I installed a new drive of same size but different manufacturer, and restored folders and files from the backup via the dash-board.
    All folder and file restore worked as expected and everything is back to normal, except for client backups.

    When I was restoring the client backup database, I could not select "Original location" so I selected "Another location" and pointed to the new drive location. Client backup database restored without any problems.
    Client backup status was now "Not setup", so I went through the setup without problems.

    Problem now is that all clients indicates "No Backups available", so I can not access previous backups.

    What did I do wrong?

  • I got the problem fixed.

    During the restore I ended up with previous client backups in a subfolder to the normal client backup folder (e:\serverfolders\client computer backups\client computer backups).

    After restoring again to the correct folder, everything is back to normal.
