Office 2007 Enterprise Validation Problem (0x80180108)

Question
-
Umm. I'm having the same problem as a lot of people, but the thing that strikes me as odd is that I purchased my laptop with office reinstalled from Costco. Nevertheless I still get the issue of "this product is not genuine/valid". I run the MGA Diagnostic which states that it is in fact valid along with the following information. Also; I tried to install windows service pack 2 a couple of weeks ago but it froze my computer and failed to install. Since then, the problem started. Is this relevant in any way?

Hello chaosdriver,

Right now your computer has a Volume Licensing installation of Office Enterprise 2007 , and that installation was done with an Invalid Volume Licensing Key (VLK). An Invalid product key means that the key was made with a pirating program known as a Key Generator and was never issued by Microsoft.
It is very unlikely that this exact installation of Office was on your laptop when you bought it from Costco. Most major namebrand laptops are sold with a Trial installation of Microsoft Office, so it is much more likely that a Trial of Office came with the laptop. Of course, after 60 days or 25 uses, the Trial would have expired, requiring the purchase of Office to continue using Office at its full functionality.
However, if indeed a full version of Office was included with your laptop purchase, you would have paid a lot extra for it. Please verify that by checking your purchase records to see if there is an itemization of an additional charge for Office, which could be anywhere from about $99 to over $400 depending upon what edition of Office was purchased.
Did you get any Office materials with your purchase of the computer, such as reinstallation discs? Or did you get Office in the clear plastic retail clamshell box with a Certificate of Authenticity affixed to it, and one or more hologrammed Discs?
Since your first course of action is to contact the seller of this software to demand that you receive the full retail license for Office 2007 Professional that you paid for, or a full refund, we want to esablish that the current instalaltion of Office is the one that came on the computer.
