trying to restore backup, invalid path name RRS feed

  • i just got a new laptop that is using windows 7. i am trying to restore a backup from my old computer that was running windows vista. it is telling me "the path name is invalid. please use a valid path name'. the file it is trying to restore from ends in .mbf and i guess what i am needing is a .mny file? anyone have any suggestions on how i can restore this file? it has s few years of my data that i desperately trying to get. i have a 2007 money program.

  •  Do not restore to the "default location".  Instead Browse to your Documents folder, and choose a new file name. That way you are sure that the folder exists on the new computer and that you will be putting the file into a suitable place.

    You do not need to specify the extension for the restored file; Money will make it to be *.mny.

    Similarly, once inside your file, in Tools->Settings->BackupSettings, click Browse to select new spots for your upon-exit and scheduled backups.
