Assign a Received Emails RRS feed

    Please note that while testing the emails on Microsoft CRM 2011, I noticed that the "Assign" ribbon button is displayed for the "Received Emails" while it is hidden for the "Sent Emails" and both of them are "Closed Activities".

    On the other hand, if we open a Received Email record and assign it to another User by clicking on the "Assign" ribbon button of the form then an error will occur since it is a "Closed Activity". However if we navigate to the "Email View" in the Activity link (Workplace) and select a "Received Email" and assign it by clicking on the "Assign" ribbon button of the view then the assignment will work correctly.

    Please advise if this is a Microsoft CRM bug and how to fix it.

  • I fixed it using a custom activity in a workflow which runs when an email is created. This workflow reopens the email. Then everything will work correctly since the email will be an open activity.
