  • Hello 86yotajunkie,

The reason Noel has seen this key before is because it is the default Keyless Install key for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Windows 7 allows user to install without entering a Product Key during the install process. This is known as a Keyless Install. When a Keyless Install occurs, Windows uses it's own Keyless Install key instead.  The keyless Install key acts as a Trial key and allows the use of Windows for 30 day before the user must enter a Valid Product Key.

The key currently being used in your copy of Windows is a Keyless Install key that has passed it's 30 day trial period.  To continue using Windows, you need to enter the Product Key that came with the Windows software.

    Thank you,

    Darin MS

I've seen this particular key before in these groups - or at least one very close to it - twice!
Both times, the OP posted an MGADiag report with the same problem as yours - grace period expired.
This makes me ask where you got the product from, and in what packaging?

The actual problem is that the system hasn't been activated yet - but this key (if it's the same as the others) will never activate, because it's the Keyless Install Key - which means that either you were sold a counterfeit with no key, or you neglected to input the key during the install.
If it's the latter, simply go to the System Properties page, and use the Change Product Key link there to change the key to the one on your packaging.
