Connecting OCS to an external SIP network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just been looking at the OCS 2007 beta. A lot of the documentation talks about either integrating OCS with a IP PBX, or the PSTN.

However, I was wondering whether is it possible to connect OCS to an external SIP network, for example an IMS ?

By using a Mediation Server, and an Edge Server would it be possible to do Voice and IM, to a SIP client on this external SIP network.

If its not possible, could you detail the reasons why.

    Thanks in advance...

  • You Mediation server would have to connect to a SIP to PSTN gateway and then from there it would be up to the gateway to talk to the other network.
