invalid security certificate ? RRS feed

    Hi,

I cannot access my mesh. The browser says mesh is invalid. See scan above. What is this?

I tryed to edit the scan to enlarge it, but was unable to submit edit changes. So, this is what appeared in the browser:

There is a problem with this website's security cirtificate. (http://www.mesh.com/Web/Desktop.aspx )
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority
The certificate presented by this website was issued for a different web address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you sent to the server

    Steve,

I took your advice and backed all my files on skydrive from my mesh folders. That was a smart move, Thanks

  • I can't see your image as it is tiny. Typically, certificate errors happen if the date and time on your PC are incorrect. Check that first. If that was the issue, update your bug report. If not, then let us know if you get any update to the report.

  • Hi,

I checked my laptop, and I can access the mesh desktop from it. I check the date an time settings on the desktop vista, and they are correct, so, that cannot be the reason.

Check the full date/time and time zone on the desktop (I've overlooked the year in the past!). And, if all of that is correct, try rebooting, if that still doesn't correct it, you've submitted the bug report already - thanks! :-)

  • Hi Steve,

All is correct on the vista desktop. Question, The laptop has onecare on it. The vista has norton internet security 2009 on it. Is it possible that security software has interfered?

  • Unlikely to be Norton, since it is reporting a certificate error, but then it is always possible. Did the problem apepar after installing NIS or has that been there all along?

  • I have always had NIS installed on this pc, I installed it after i purchased it in oct. 2008. I haven't installed any new software on this vista

  • Then I would probably rule out NIS as the culprit. Let's see what your bug report and logs reveal.

  • Update, I think I might have found the problem. I have a different error message (unable to connect to live mesh, please check your network connection). The strange thing is, my network is working fine. So, the problem may be in my router firewall. I am checking it now
