I read what I think is the answer to my question, however, I need to be sure.
My neighbor bought a pc from a computer repair store last year. This weekend I discovered his version of XP and McAfee Security Center is illegal. McAfee is not updating. so I scanned using MBAM and found 9 viruses. I wanted to remove McAfee and installed one of the free softwares, however it would have included installing a virus software, as well as firewall and spyware. All of the best free softwares I have read about over the past years were bookmarked in my computer. I considered Security Essentials, however it would not install due to the illegal XP.
I decided to install one of the 3 copies of OneCare that came with my subscription. Now my pc is a hub and I can view his pc status on my computer. I prefer not to do this. Is there a way I can remove his pc from my hub?
In your reponse to a similar question, you suggested changing the original pc from the hub pc. Will this separate the pc's? How can I do this?
You can't remove the PC from your circle without uninstalling One Care. If you do not want to see the status of the new computer the only option is to stop using your hub computer as a hub.Microsoft MVP Consumer Security - Forum Moderator - Live One Care - Live Mesh - Microsoft Security Essentials
