Windows GrayScale for color blind users

    Question

  • Hi,

I cannot see blue and red very well on my computer screen since I am slightly colorblind.   I would like to have a windows theme that makes all colors appear gray scale (everything on the monitor, not just the windows components).  You currently have this option configured while the 'Turn off computer' dialog is displayed.  (go to start -> turn off computer.  Wait a couple seconds and it all becomes gray.  Beautiful!)

Can someone please add this to windows as a display option?  I haven't found any utilities available on the web that can do this.

Mac's have this option available as well, and this is somewhat of a selling point for people like me.

    Thanks,
    Alex

  • You can just turn down the Saturation values on your video card to make everything gray, which has the same effect.  Not really a solution though because it depends if your video card supports that feature.  Intel Graphics and Media Software supports this
