SSDT BrtRef DD01BRLast week, I found the GodMode option online. Under System Tools, I click on Activate Windows and I get the message that my windows 7 is genuine and activated. However, the This computer is not running genuine Windows message still re-appears.
Under troubleshooting, if I click on Find and fix problems and go to Windows Update and I get the following error:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer. However, i followed the instructions in the Microsoft website and it shows that it is running.
All this issues started a couple of months after my kid drop the laptop while it was on and the computer would not start. After running several backup software, i got the laptop running and eventually this issues started. I bought this laptop from Bestbuy a few years back and still using the same operating system. It has Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 installed.
Thanks in advanced for your help.

If KB3004394 is installed- uninstall it.
This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -
Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194
(you want the iata_enu.exe download)
Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

I found the installed updates under control panel. All my KBs installed are under 3000000. I downloaded and installed iata_enu.exe, but the computer became really slow. It has been getting faster but it is still slow. Here is the report after restarting the computer twice. I also already got the not genuine message already.

The report shows clear now - so your other problems are unrelated.
You should also be able to install updates now.
Are you still seeing non-genuine notifications?

Computer got faster after another reboot. I saw the 'not genuine message' after rebooting the computer the second time. I was able to do the windows update but it said that windows update had to be install.. after the download it asked to reboot at the same time the 'not genuine message' showed up again. I did the reboot and after start up, i have not seen the message. It has only been 30 minutes after reboot but it usually pops up by now. Ill be doing windows updates for a few hours, I'm sure (its been a while now). Hopefully, I wont see the message again. If I do should I follow the instructions, now that windows updates are running? Thanks for your help.Monday, January 26, 2015 2:26 PM

I spoke to soon, I just saw the message in the middle of the windows update. I closed it and will wait for your response and for windows to finish updating. Thanks.Monday, January 26, 2015 3:20 PM

You need to repost a diagnostic that was run while you are seeing the Non-Genuine message.
Please do not read this sentence. Please ignore the previous sentence.

Please attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer - what happens?
If it fails, post a new MGADiag report.
If it passes, reboot and see if the notification has gone.

I was finally able to install all updates and my laptop finally says up to date. I have had the laptop running for several hours now and I have not seen that message. But I still went ahead and followed the validation link and it finally said that my computer is genuine. Hopefully this will also fix my dvd drive not reading discs and Iphone not being detected. Thanks everyone for all your help.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 4:56 AM

My dvd/bluray did not work. Should I start a different post? I ran the search for errors under GodMode, search for updated drivers and ran MicrosoftFixit.wu.RNP.Run but they cant find nothing wrong. When i put a dvd in it says to insert media even though a dvd or bluray is inserted. if i double click on it it just spins for a while but nothing happens. Thanks, and sorry if i should start a new post.Wednesday, January 28, 2015 5:28 AM
