CRM 2011 Configuration Wizard error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to configure CRM Client 2011 for Outlook 2010. Both pieces of software is delivered using App-V Packages. When i launch Outlook, it loads the CRM plugin and I can open the configuration wizard. However, when i try to type in the name of the CRM server it fails with the "There is a problem communicating with the CRM server..."

I can open the website without problems from a browser on the same machine. I can also run the wizard from a non-virtual Outlook/CRM.

The CRM log states the following error(s):

  • Hmm.. Don't think I'm able to start the wizard in sequencing mode, as Outlook cannot be started due to profile configuration etc. should be preserved for when a user logs on.

I have checked the time setting, <1 minutes difference, shouldn't matter?!

  • i had 1 client with 3 difference minutes, and after change correct it worked :) unbeliveable..

hm.., can u for testing configure a testcrm in sequenzing mode? then u can check with this packages if it is possible to delete then on a client the configuration and fill in the needed crm?

maybe this post it is better in app-v forum, beacuse u said that in non-virtual its working

  • Figured it out...

I hadn't installed Windows Identity Foundation on the machine running the App-V package. Got the install from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=17331

Thanks anyways dao. Sorry for the blunder
