Live mesh installed correctly but it won't start.

every time when I restart my computer there is a problem:

I don't know what to do.
I've uninstalled the program en installed again but the same problem.

I guess (please correct me if I'm wrong) that "vista Pre SP 1 32x version" was meant to be "Vista Home Premium SP1 32-Bit", not "Vista pre-SP1" (in the meaning of pre = before)

nanne: We have a few different issues that can cause failures to start.  The quickest way for us to determine what's going on in your case would be for you to file a bug through Connect and attach all your logs.  Instructions are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Also, after filing your bug, please feel free to post the Connect Feedback ID here; I will track the bug internally and follow up with you when we learn anything.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Hi nanne,

You said that this computer does not have Vista SP1 installed, is that correct?  Do you have UAC enabled?  On a computer running Vista without SP1, Live Mesh requires that UAC be enabled.

Please let me know, and I'll continue to work with you to resolve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Please see the Announcement entitled "How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs" on the first page of the forums for detailed instructions on collecting logs and submitting a bug through Connect.

    Hi nanne,

You have indeed been the victim of unfortunate timing.  All Microsoft Connect services were suffering failures for a brief period this afternoon - but the problem has been resolved.  Please try logging into the Connect site again (you may want to restart your browser first) and let me know if you're still unable to access it.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Are you using Internet Explorer? If not, try it. Connect does work for me without problems today.

    Hi nanne,

That's very strange, but yes, there is another way to submit your logs since Connect is not working for you.  Please email them to lmprev@microsoft.com.  In the body of the email please provide your forum handle and the title of (or link to) this forum thread so that we can track the issue.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

Did you collect you logs and send them to the email address in the previous reply (the Live Mesh team) or attach them to a bug report on the Connect web site?

if you sent your logs to the email address, email the team again and ask them if they have a status for your submission. Refer to the date of your original send.

If you managed to attach the logs to a bug report on Connect, you can add a comment to the bug report asking for an update.

Someone may reply here, but the other methods may be more direct for you.

What happens when you try to register on Connect?

What happens when you try to contact the e-mail address from within this thread for the team?

What specific problems are you experiencing? It may be best for you to start a new thread here in the forum and provide a detailed description of the problems. If the problems are different for differnt PCs, describe the PC specifications adn configuration, too.

  • Hi all,

The Connect site was experiencing intermittent difficulties.  Please try again - it should work now.
