    Too much cpu usage and pf usage, what to do with MsMpEng.exe ?

  • I found your post in Off Topic and moved it to the Anti-Spyware topic folder.

    MSMPENG is the engine used by OneCare and Defender. When it uses excessive CPU other than for a few minutes at PC boot when it performs a "Quick Scan" if it was scheduled to run overnight and the PC was off, it typically indicates a conflict with other processes on your PC. Please contact support for help with this problem.
