What strategy to use to upload parts of a huge mdb file to SQL server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
probably a simple answer, but I can not find it..,
I know how to upload a complete mdb database to the server (using bulk import) and then import it into my SQL Server database.
but I believe the file has to be on the server for me to do this. Therefore I upload the whole file, but my file size is around 200 MB, and I only need to around 100k
    of that data
So far I solved it by implementing a separate user program that queries the data and then the user then uploads the results in a separate process.

It requires two steps and I was asked to do it all at once. On a slow connection the upload just takes too long.

Is there a way to filter the MDB file before it gets loaded and only upload the result in ASP.net ?
    I use VB

    Thank you
    Steffen

  • Hi Steffen,

As this is a Forum for Windows Workflow, we don't have the expertise here to answer this.  I would try asking this here:
