I tried to redem my bonus pack for Vista Home Premium but came back with a failure.  It is possibly because I am a U.S. Air Force person stationed in Iraq at the moment.  I feel I should still be eligible for the bonus pack because I bought the computer from a U.S based business (Cyberpower Inc).  I don't feel I should be penalized because I happen to be helping my country with the situation in Iraq and had to authenticate my Windows Vista from somewhere other than the U.S.  Please let me know if my request can be process or not.

    Thank-you,

  • Hi Sgt Boyer,

We are going to need to talk with you about your specific issue, but it would be cumbersome to do so over the Forum.

Would you please go to https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860 and create a Support Incident. Afterward, post the Incident Number here in this thread. We will then contact you directly.

    Thank you,

  • I received the email below from Pradosh.  It does not help the situation. I'm still in Iraq - and still unable to redeem the bonus pack offer.  He suggested going to my computer manufactuer, but the links I follow to redeem the offer take me right back to the screen saying I can't redeem.  I bought the computer in the U.S., had it shipped to my home address, and then sent to the base I'm at in Iraq.  I'm just looking for a definitive answer on whether I will be able to redeem the bonus pack or not.

Thank you for your help, Jennifer.  I do appreciate the time you are putting forth towards resolving this issue.

    Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Customer Service.

I understand that you are experiencing issue while trying to redeem the offer for bonus pack.

From the information you provided, I determined that the software was preinstalled by your Original Equipment Manufacturer.

If a product or software is preinstalled or distributed with your computer, your primary source for support is the computer manufacturer who provided your Microsoft software. If you would like to contact your OEM for receiving the bonus pack, please view the following page that lists contact information for most computer manufacturers:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;oemphone

I hope the above information is helpful.

Thank you for using Microsoft Products and Services.

  • I received the email below from Pradosh.

It did not help me by suggesting to follow the same path I took to get to where I am now.  I am still unable to redeem the bonus pack offer at this time - I tried again following the links posted by CyberpowerPC.  I came right back to the page saying I was unable to redeem.

I bought the computer from Cyberpower, Inc.  I had it shipped to my home address in Virginia.  My wife then mailed it to the base I am assigned while in Iraq for a year.  Basically I'm just looking for an answer on whether I can somehow redeem the bonus pack offer via some other means besides the links that are provided by Cyberpower.

I do thank you Jennifer for your efforts in helping me to resolve this situation.

    Sincerely,

    Joe

  • Jenifer,

I did not receive an email from you.  I checked the spam folder as well - and the only thing in there from MS was a notice there was a reply to this message set and one from Nikhil.

Hope to hear from you soon,

    Joe
