MigrationUser0 round RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Looks like there was a MigrationUser0 round just before. What happened? Went the forum servers down? In the wiki everything worked fine.

  • Oh, you can not really read it. :/ The point is, that every last reply is from MigrationUser0 and this inbetween 5 minutes.

  • Someone reported the same problem in the Forum's Issues also. Apparently each day some new bug shows up. But I haven't seen any fixes of these new bugs lately. Not the activity bug, not the 'Unread' bug, etc. And some functionality being removed and never returned, such as seeing last person replied in 'My Forums' or where the original thread came from when it was moved.

  • Are the issue fixer taking holidays or are these really so hard issues to fix?

  • I don't know. May be it's hard to prioritize or may be fixing one bug introduces 2-3 new, so the developers are scary to fix a bug.

Say, I was recently working on one form written few years ago by a developer who left the company long ago. I tried my best to fix the existing code, but some new problem always appeared when I patched here or there. So, my latest conclusion is that I need at least a partial re-write. I haven't started the re-write yet, though.

  • There exist several MigrationUser. From MigrationUser 0 to MigrationUser 5 I checked the links. MigrationUser 6 gave me an error page. The funny thing is, that MigrationUser 2 has a lot of points.

  • Are you saying it's in the thread I linked? I see only the second post (by Adam Machanic) to be attributed to the migration user. Last post in this thread is mine.

  • This is today's sample

The interesting thing is that the same user re-posted that question again and I've answered him, so I guess I can now merge two threads.
