Cannot Delete an Account

Question
-
I have an account that is not relevant (not even real) and I would like to delete it. The only thing is has associated with it is an order. This order however has been canceled. CRM tells me I can't delete the account because it has something associated with it. But CRM won't let me delete the order because it is disactivated. Catch-22 -- does anyone know the way out? Create an on demand workflow to change the status of the order so you can delete it.

You'll see the option to 'change status' as one of the workflow operations. Use this, not 'update record' and it should not be too tricky.

It's not suggest to delete any records which have associated any elements. Microsoft suggest to Deactivate not delete.

Thanks Leon. I just realised I've essentially posted the same question twice (the other one is here: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crm/thread/9dbca8b2-d0d6-4114-a143-32c4743eec41) At that thread, I ask further how to create the workflow -- I'm in the workflow creation dialogue but can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!Thursday, January 21, 2010 1:45 PM
