Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated ethernet card driver for WHS? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm trying to get WHS to work on an older Dell with a Broadcom 440x 10/100 ethernet card (at least that's what the dell website tells me I have). I am having fits trying to figure out what driver to use to get it work with WHS. I have tired about every driver I could find on dell and the broadcom site and it still shows in my device manager as unrecognized hardware, and thus I have no internet connection.

Does anyone have any advice? I'm stumped. Thanks.

  • The drivers you will want will be 32 bit Windows Server 2003 drivers, or Windows XP (if Windows Server 2003 isn't an option). But if you're having trouble with Dell's supplied drivers, it will probably be easier to buy a separate PCI NIC (I like Intel NICs) and use that.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
