Protection against viruses RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there protection (server side) to prevent viruses etc from being synchronised? I have a virus checker running on my machines, but theres still many people out there who don't, or don't have it upto date. The last thing I want is to have a share with someone who allows a dodgy file to be synchronised over to my machines. Even if i have a virus checker running on my machines I still don't want it getting to me in the first place.

  • Hi Luke,
That's a great idea!  Feel free to add it to the sticky wish list.  There is no server-side virus scanning today.  Note that it is always a good idea to run with antivirus software on your machines anyway because if the creator of the folder has reached his/her 5 GB limit, subsequent files will go P2P without ever going through the cloud.

    Thanks,

  • Sounds like a good idea. I can just see one of the next great viruses specifically looking for shared mesh folders to propigate. I'll look for this suggestion on connect to vote for. :-)
