MS Office 2010 Excel DDE Option RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are tryiing to use multiple instances of Excel, so under the Excel Options/Advanced/General we have check marked the box for "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDS)".  Now we are able to have multiple instances of Excel opening spreadsheets from local drives/network drives, but when we try to launch Excel from email attachments we do not see any content.

We found other solutions on the Microsoft TechNet, how to open multiple instances by changing the registry settings for DDE, and it has been working fine from saved files, but not from email attachments.

Also, is there a way to ensure that Vlookup will recognize multiple instances of Excel?

We tried this on a couple of different models of laptops, and we feel that this is a Microsoft Bug.  Please help.
