    Using microsoft sync framework 2,is there a way to sync all tables between two ms sql 2008 databases

    with out specifically adding each table to a scope?

  • afaik, you cant. a scope is essentially a definition of which tables to sync and what filters to apply. sync fx needs to create change tracking objects too for each table (triggers, tracking table, etc...). when you sync, Sync Fx goes thru the scope definition to determine which tables to sync.

  • not that am aware of. but you have to take into consideration that if you have lots of tables in a single scope, the sync knowledge for all those tables will all be stored in a column in a single row. likewise, the data operations in a scope is contained in a transaction, the more tables you have the longer to sync, the longer to hold on to the transaction before it commits and if it fails, roll back will be applied to the tables in that scope.
