MCSA to MCTS to MCITP RRS feed

  • Question

  • I think I know the correct answer to this, but would like to get it confirmed.

I have a MCSA cert.  I want to upgrage that to MCTS.  I bought the MS-Press book for "transitioning your MCSA/MCSE, etc"....  If I understand the "objectives" page correctly, I don't need to read the entire book?  Just the first 10 chapters?  And then the remainder is for someone upgrading from the MCSE?

I'm going to use virtual machines for my lab.  The book talks about needing Vista.  It's no longer available for a trial download.  Can I assume Windows 7 Enterprise will suffice for the exam?  That's the closest thing I could find, for a trial download.

To then upgrade the MCTS to the MCITP Server Admin, I only need to read the book for and take the exam for 70-646?  Asking because it seems a little surprising that isn't more.  But not complaining :-)

    Thanks.

  • Hi If this is the 70-648/70-649 study guide then you will only the need the 70-648 sections.

70-649 is for an MCSE upgrade,

Thanks.  Since Vista is no longer available for a trial download, can I assume that Windows 7 is ok to use in the exercises?
