CRM 2011 - upgrade from rollup 6 to rollup 11

  Hi,
  if you can update directly from UR6 to UR17.

  But remember that UR12 introduced the multi browser compatibility, so normally it's suggested to clone your instance and test your upgrade, in order to check that all the scripts are working

  Guido has the correct information. Realisticly there's lots of information on U12 that would let you see the big changes with cross browser support http://blogs.c5insight.com/Home/tabid/40/entryid/302/Is-Your-CRM-2011-Ready-for-the-Next-Update-UR12-aka-Polaris.aspx has a decent breakdown on what happens with U12.

  2. There shouldn't be a whole lot of changes you'd need to make. With U11 or 12 comes the bulk import which makes integration actually easier. You may want to go back later on and make some changes to take advantage of this new API functionality.

  3. In terms of the SQL Structure nothing changes. When you upgrade to CRM 2013 + CRM 2015 table merges start to take place and are required in CRM 2015.

  4. Issues you may expect? JavaScript for cross browser support is usually the biggest issue. There are tools to help with this see http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2012/06/21/microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011-custom-code-validation-tool-released.aspx.

  5. I'd look at a combination of partner and customer blogs and sites and then look at the release notes for each of the Rollups your about to apply https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2795627 for U12.
