Dynamics CRM 2011 - Adding Related Record Searchable Field to View RRS feed

  • I need to be able to add the Case Number field as a searchable field in the queue item gridview (the quick search view). I am able to add the field as a visible column via the queue item system views (by adding the related record: Case (Object)) but I cannot add it as a searchable field because it is not a direct field of the queue item entity.

    Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this? It would be so helpful to be able to navigate the queue item records by searching for the related case number.

    this is not possible out of box. you can only search by the case title (or the case primary name) in the queue. If you need to make the case number searchable, set the case number as the primary key in the case record.
