Users force Dell to resurrect XP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Responding to customer demand Dell has restarted selling new PCs with Windows XP installed on them.

The decision reverses a policy begun in January that meant Windows Vista was the only operating system available on almost all new home machines.

The change came after Dell's feedback site was swamped with calls for the return of the venerable software.

Now customers can opt for the Home or Professional version of XP on six models of Dell machines.

So what do u think guys??? Is windows XP better or Vista???

  • This is a good news for XP users and enthusiasts. Now they will not have to be worried for maintaining two operating systems or installation of XP in place of Vista. Not everyone is ready to go for Microsoft Vista as of now.

  • The sole reason for the increasing demand of Microsoft XP is that with the large price gap between XP and Vista , people expect a fairly significant difference in their features and services. But no such significant advantages are offered by Vista. Hence, people prefer to stick to the much cheaper XP operating system.

  • This step will also be beneficial for Dell because now it will supply PCs in the market with XP and also with Vista.  It can now cater to the needs of a greater segment of buyers because both the XP users and Vista users can be satisfied.
