LiveOneCare subscription issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently tried renewing my LOC subscription several times online and was amazingly unsuccessful. So I deinstalled the software, bought a new off the shelf copy and installed it. I keep getting an "urgent" renew subscription prompt on my desktop and on the top of the LOC home panel. Can anyone tell me if:

A.) this means that I did not install the new software correctly.

B.) If I did there is a way to end this annoyance.

    Microsoft techies not much help.

Answers

  • Go to http://billing.microsoft.com and sign in with the LiveID you activated OneCare with. Select Renew for the OneCare subscription. Choose the option to renew with a token which is the 25 character PIN or product ID from the retail box.

When you installed the retail copy and activated with your LiveID with the expired/expiring subscription you associated the install with that subscription. An alternative would have been to install and activate with a new LiveID which would then have asked you to create a subscription.
