special if we are using Live mesh as a peer-to-peer replicating tool, the common problem remains. Bandwidth of the DSL connection (special for private usage the upload). In some cases the devices will stay at the same network at home. So wouldn't it be possible to tell Mesh that the replication (copying) should be done via the internal network without the bottleneck of the internetconnection (this could be done via setting a manual user flag or via intelligent clientmanagement - calling the DHCP and ask for IP and Subnet?). Crazy, I am painfully uploading the files, to download these again and both system are in the same room ;(
One more step: allthough a replication against Live Desktop is done, all other devices sitting in the same network at home should be copying via "gateway" internal switch.
Recall the idea of Microsoft to integrate Windows Home Server in future: Getting the ideal fastest routingway of all clients in a "private" network would start a new dimension of replication. Saves bandwidth, saves energy and gets a speed to sync all devices at a possible time-rate.
Thanks for the feedback. The Live Mesh team has previously reported that they are looking at improving the P2P experience for synchronizing. You can vote on existing feedback for this area per the instructions here:
