what do you think of this unit as hardware for WHS?

Hi,

Ran across this bargain and thought I would ask if it suitable for an installation of WHS.

I have some older tower computers that I could piece together, however I thought using a 1U server and rack would be better than building a shelf near my "home run".

You might find it challenging, to be honest. You'll probably need to supply some sort of drivers in order to access that disk (which is probably SCSI) at all, and you won't be able to use it as the system disk because Windows Home Server has a hard lower limit of 70 GB on system disk size. Also, you will need a DVD drive, not CD.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

Drivers available at link above, but the OP will have to get a larger drive, as you describe.

What capacity is there for drive expansion? What kind of power consumption does it have?
