First, note the error "There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs"."  Some of the functions of Windows Activation are handled by Visual Basic Scripts and it would seem that there is aproblem with the file associations for the file extension .vbs on your system.  I would suggest simply entering the phrase "There is no script engine for file extension ".vbs"." into your favorite search engine and looking at the top three or four results for advice on how to fix this issue.  FRom what I saw, the fix should be fairly easy.

However, that is not the the major problem on this computer, Genuine-wise.  Here is the explanation for why the computer is nongenuine:

The Hr Online error code HrOnline: 0xC004C4AB indicates that this computer has a "loader" activation hack installed that was picked up by the latest Windows Activation Technologies  update.  This type of hack attempts to fool the installed operating system into thinking that it is a preinstalled license for Windows 7 Ultimate and that it is installed on a computer from a manufacturer that would use such a license.  Based on the SLIC DELL QA09 entry lower in the snippet, a Dell SLIC value has been injected into the BIOS of this computer to circumvent SLP activation.

If the computer has a Certificate of Authenticity from a previous installation of Windows, your options include returning to the original licensed installation via a clean installation using the manufacturer-supplied recovery solution or genuine Windows OEM installation disc.  If there never was a licensed copy of Windpows installed on this computer, or if you do not want to go back to the previous OS and would like to stick with Windows 7 Ultimate, you can click on the nongenuine notifications to be taken to pages from which you can purchase a genuine license for Windows 7 Ultimate directly from Microsoft for a reduced price.

BTW, the Good News is that your installation of Office Ultimate 2007 is reporting as a Genuine installation of a retail license.

  • Hello Seba D,

If all you did was uninstall KB971033, then all you did was take the battery out of the smoke detector.  Your house is still burning down---IOW, your installation is likely still nongenuine.

If you'd like more assistance, post a fresh mgadiag report.

You wrote, "While installing though, I preferred to use a kit from the net, with all the updates to date."  If this means you download and install an iso of the Operating System where updates have been integrated into the installation disc, then while it may save a little time, it has the considerable potential to install malware that may also be embedded in the iso.  Microsoft research shows about ha;f of these downloaded Windows isos have embedded malware.

  • Dear Dan,

I do have a genuine windows double DVD license with the real license and so on.

While installing though, I preferred to use a kit from the net, with all the updates to date. And this was couple of months back. After installation I did fill the real license, and until yesterday everything was really fine. It is out of the question to reinstall everything. We are talking at least couple of days. My machine has a lot of customizations!!!

Anyway, I'll see what happens after registering the vbs dll...

    Thanks

    Seba

  • Dear Dan,

Apparently after removing as well the infamous update KB971033 my windows is again genuine.

I have at the moment a stack of windows licenses, starting with XP, Vista and now Win7. What upsets me the most is that I was always using the pirated copies just to avaid the kind of hustle I've got today. Apparently the pirated copies were easier to use. If anybody asks I was still having the real license in my drawer...I hope will stay licensed for the time being...

    Cheers

    Seba
