External Web Farm FQDN same with External FQDN of Access Edge or Web Conferencing Edge RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

Has anyone here tried using the same external FQDN for the reverse proxy (external web farm URL) and the access edge role or the web conf edge role?

example #1 my externalwebfarmfqdn is sip.domain.com which is the same as my access edge role (sip.domain.com)?

    or

example #2, my externalwebfarmfqdn is webconf.domain.com which is the same as my web conf edge role (webconf.domain.com)?

    Will this work?

Anyways, assuming everything works fine from external or remote users (SIP and A/V conferencing)... except for the Live Meeting.

  • Since the Access Edge Proxy and Reverse Proxy role are part of separate products (OCS and typically ISA Server) they are not collocatable on the same server.  Is there a reason you don't want to use separate DNS records for each role?
