Don't Subscribe to OneCare Online

Question
-
Subscribed to OneCare via the Net on 12/6/07. Microsoft sent me a confirmation that I had subscribed, but there was no product key contained in that email; ergo, it is impossible to activate the product.
If Microsoft expects to make this product successful then they will need to implement activation much better.
Will cancel the service (what service?) tomorrow. More hassle than it's worth, especially considering all the alternatives out there.
Another thing, there is no email address or telephone number published to get help to resolve problems.
Beware!

You will never get a product key when you subscribe/activate online. When you proceed through the purchase process, you sign in with your LiveID and provide payment information. Once that has been confirmed, your subscription is active. To install on another PC (up to 2 more) or to reinstall, you activate with the same LiveID. You can verify your subscription status at http://billing.microsoft.com
If you completed the purchase and OneCare on your PC still says that you need to subscribe, your PC copy has not received the server activation message back. Please contact support if this is the case.

Steve, the situation is as you described it in paragraph two of your reply.
Do you believe that Microsoft is serving the best interests of its long-suffering customers by having you publish that ridiculously involved process that you linked to your message? It's downright insulting.
I need a telephone number or an email address that goes directly to a human who actually has a clue regarding a swift, accurate diagnosis and resolution of this problem that would had never had occured if the product had reached the final release stage. The slang term, "jerked around," fits the situation to the proverbial "tee."
Don't make excuses to us, insist that they fix what is broken or refund the money received.

Let me ask you again - did you sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com and verify your subscription is active?
If so, have you uninstalled OneCare and installed and activated with that LiveID once again?
If you are located in the US, please send me an email at sboots@mvps.org and put OneCare in the subject line and a link to this thread in the message to get past my spam filters.
