Question

Hi Experts,
Newbie to this project server 2010.
My req is for the resource manager or Team manager to look and update the tasks of all the resources under a particular team. As per the guide if we enable the view resource assignment for the resource, the resource should be able to see the assignemnts in the resource center. but the option is not enabled as the resource can not see any resource by default in the Resource center.
Can you help here.
Thanks
Sakthi

Sakthi,
Setting up the security is a two step process.
1) First you need to define a security category for which resources you want the resource manager to see. An example is the My Resources category, and by default it only looks at the RBS descendants. You could use other criteria that is available. if you are NOT using RBS, then it is either ALL Resources or just themselves, that the Resource Managers can see.
2) Second, you need to add it to to the Resource Manager group, and select the permissions as shown for that category.

You need to select View Resource Assignments in Assignment Views permission as well to enable Resource Manager to view assignment details by using Assignment view in the Resource Center along with above steps mention by Prasanna.
Hope this will help you.
