NoReplyAll - Attachment Check RRS feed

  • Question

  • It would be useful if the attachment check could just test the current reply rather than text further down the thread. This check should ideally be just for the sendr of this 'ping'.

Otherwise - I like it, only just found it and have recommended it to my team.

  • There isn't a 100% reliable way to detect which bits of the message are "real" message and which are bits of the thing you're replying to (though there are some reasonable heuristics). Have a look at the bottom of http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/researchdesktop/noreplyall.aspx - perhaps that'll help. In summary, you can specify a regular expression for bits of the email to ignore, and the example there seems to work fairly well, though I'm sure someone can come up with something better.

I note that Outlook 2013 includes a missing attachment detector - I don't know how it deals with this aspect of the check (haven't had a chance to check yet).
