Validation Successful...but it isn't RRS feed

    Hello All,


    I recently had the same issue as several other people...apparently my copy of windows isn't genuine even though the disk is sitting right next to me and the receipt is filed away somewhere.


    I went to the validation site and got this result "Thank you for validating your copy of Microsoft Windows.

    Thank you for using the Windows Genuine Advantage program. You may now access resources for genuine Windows users."


    However, I still can't access any of the windows function and the watermark showing that my copy of windows isn't genuine is still in the bottom of my screen.


    I have tried:

    Validating, then rebooting

    Validating, then rebooting twice

    Re-Activating via phone, then validating again

    Re-Activating via phone, then validating again and rebooting


    I also emailed tech support and got a brainless response asking if I had ever activated my product even though I gave them the same explanation as above...so now I need to wait another day or two for them to come back with another stupid response.


    Does anyone know how to solve this?



    I have an OEM System Builder Pack (Home Premium x64) copy installed but did buy it legitimately.

      In order to recieve the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue" click the Windows tab, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into a response message in this thread.

    If you do not have access to the Start Button:

    1) Login to Vista and Click the option that brings up Internet Explorer.

    2) Type: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 into the browser address bar.

    3) A window will come up asking if you want to Run or Save, Select Run

    4) When the program runs, Click the Continue button, then click the Copy button.

    5) Return to this thread by Typing: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3122374&SiteID=25 into the browser address bar.

    6) In a reply post, Paste the Diagnostic Report.
