Livekd fail with error 0xC0000354 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to use livekd to get a kernel dump on a Windows Server 2012 system.  The system has 48 GB of memory.  I use the following command line:

    livekd -m -o memory.dmp -k "c:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Debuggers\x64\windbg.exe"

I tried this on a test system with 8 GB of memory and it created the kernel memory dump.  I then tried it on the real target system, it failed with error 0xC0000354 (STATUS_DEBUGGER_INACTIVE.)  I thought this was strange since the livekd documentation did not mention you need to enable debug mode.  I then set "bcdedit /debug on" and rebooted the system.  I tried livekd again.  This time I received the error 0xC0000003 (STATUS_INVALID_INFO_CLASS.)  I don't know what this means or what to try next.
