How can I get remote access to turn on? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have done everything (I think) to get remote access to work, but the config wizard tells me that the web-site is not available from the Internet.

    It is available locally.

Router is configured for UPnP Standards.

My ISP confirms that all ports are open.

Have processed web-site address with 'homeserver.com" (Twice).

    BUT NO REMOTE ACCESS.

Have I forgotten something? Is there an obvious solution that I am just not recognising?

Can someone help please, my grandchildren are waiting to send me data.

  • Which router is it?  Also what ports did you say your ISP said it was open - did they really mean all 65,000? or are you paraphrasing 80, 433 and 4125?

WHS could be wrong - if your grandchildren go to http://yourname.homeserver.com/ or https://yourname.homeserver.com/ do they get anything resembling your home server?

If you go to shields up at grc.com and port scan yourself what comes up?
