After installing WHS Power pack 1, Remote connection works sometimes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Linksys BEFSR81v3 Router and after installing WHS Power pack 1 , sometimes I can connect to my remote web page and other times I cannot. I have tried the remote access repair and also refreshing my Domain Name Details. Both ways show that my router is not configured correctly. but sometimes it will work without me doing anything. I will log on and be able to connect, then, all of a sudden, I cannot connect? The last 2 days it just will not connect? Below is my setup

  • Thanks for the reply. I do have Power Pack 2 installed. It is not my ISP, I am really leaning on my Router as the problem.
    Thanks

First, Power Pack 2 is out now.  You should continue manually updating your server by clicking the Update Now button (and rebooting) until it says there are no new updates for Windows Home Server.

Having said that, intermittent connectivity issues is either A) your hardware (NIC, network cable, router) is failing or B) your ISP is having issues.  You should start by contacting your ISP and if they say everything is fine on their end, you should start swapping out the parts listed above.
