Excel files created from views RRS feed

When I create a static Excel file from a contact list and then open the xls file I get this message:

.......file is in a different format than the extension blah, blah, blah.  I am able to open and work with the file just fine, however, I have noticed that if I attempt to use the file to upload to Constant Contact to send emails Constant Contact can't read the file.

If I copy the data from the original xls to a new xls file, I am able to upload to a service like Constant Contact.  Has any body seen this behavior or do you understand why the behavior?

    Thank you,

  • You have to save the file first after opening it the first time, then it will work.

  • CRM exports out of CRM in OpenXML format I believe, thus the problem. If you Save As... this should resolve the issue.

  • Thank you for your replies.  I have saved the dynamic worksheet file as a .xls file in Excel 97-2003 format.

I still get the prompt on opening the file as well as the security warning about data connections being disabled.

This is certainly not a huge ordeal but shouldn't this be easier to manage?
