invalid coa after re-installation RRS feed

  • hi, im having a problem activating my xp pro, just hoping you can help.


    my xp professional was already installed but i had problems with viruses so i bought a xp professional installation disc(with no product key) i wiped the hard drive and installed xp pro. but i wont activate, the key on the sticker matches the key on the diagnostic tools.


    im not to sure if the skicker is from an upgrade, i dont think it is but would this make a differents?

    Do you have a Dell or Compaq computer? Did you receive any reinstallation software media with the computer @ the time of purchase? Where did you purchase the  Windows XP software without a product key? Depending on the make/manufacturer you may contact the technicial support of the company and request them to send you the reinstallation media for the model.
